Christmas concert rehearsals have begun!
All Year 2 children have important roles in the Infant Christmas concert this year. Each child has a speaking part and need to learn their lines as soon as possible. We are also learning lots of new songs ready for our concert, in English and welsh! Please help your child to learn any words they may bring home. Many thanks.
Our role play focus for the Autumn term is 'Sion Cwilt's house'. We have built part of the house in the classroom and have already labelled it with household objects in welsh, to accompany our 'Homes' theme for this term. The children will be making a 'quilt' for the roof, just like Sion!
Please support your child by ensuring that they continue to read regularly at home and return their reading book on the specified day. Parents can also help by doing simple mental maths activities such as counting on and back in ones, twos, fives and tens.
Recorders
All Year 2 children are learning to play the recorder. Lesson take place every Thursday afternoon so please ensure that recorders are brought in on this day. Recorders can be purchased from the school office at a price of £3.50 and we do have a small number of school recorders for children to borrow.
